Ciri dan struktur

Basidiomata annual, mainly sessile to substipitate. Pileus 7–23 × 10–30 cm and 1.2 cm thick at the base, rounded-flabelliform, solitary or rarely imbricate. Pileus surface reddish-brown, purplish-brown, dark brown to nearly black, margin lighter than the base to concolorous; dull to semiglossy, cracked after drying, azonate to slightly zonate; Context 2.5–10 mm thick, soft-corky, layered, orange-white or cream-orange-pink above, light brown to raw-sienna near the tubes. Tube up to 0.3–0.6 cm long, almost concolorous with the lower part of the context, fragile. Pores 3–4 per mm; pore surface yellowish-white to orange-brown or raw-sienna. Stipe 4–13 cm long and 4–4.5 cm in diam., cylindrical; reddish-black, darker than pileus. Hyphal system: Generative hyphae 2.5–5.5 μm in diam., with clamped connections; Skeletal hyphae 2–10 μm in diam., thick-walled, non-branched to arboriform; Binding hyphae 3–8 µm in diam., thick-walled; IKI–, CB+.

Habitat dan peran ekologis

North America—Canada, USA, Cuba (Murrill 1908; Hong and Jung 2004; Milay et al. 2023). Asia—China (Xizang Autonomous Region), confirmed by sequencing the holotype of Ganoderma tibetanum (this study). This is the first verified Asian record.
